Step into a fully-equipped kitchen and watch as fun is stirred up with a variety of KitchenAid Countertop Appliances. Teachers will use mixers, attachments, food processors… even cutlery! Learn the full use of these wonderful countertop appliances as well as new culinary techniques, tips and tricks of the trade. Activities and demonstrations make this more than a store… it’s a mixing, blending, slicing culinary adventure! Visit the Log House and Blacksmith Shop at Shawnee Prairie

Have you ever wondered what life would have been like during 1790-1810? Could you imagine living in a Log House or working in a Blacksmith Shop? Come visit the pioneers and blacksmith on Saturday afternoons as volunteers interpret what life was like on the prairie years ago. You will learn day-to-day life, skills and chores of the time and see the blacksmith working.

Downtown Greenville Farmers' Market

The downtown Greenville Farmers’ Market has been a Darke County summer staple since 1998. This year promises to be another great year for fresh produce (as it is ready for harvest), baked goods and handmade crafts from local vendors. Vendors will offer various goods ranging from embroidered crafts, vintage bears/dolls and handmade jewelry to produce, baked goods, herbs and fresh flowers. Event attendees can expect to see a varied lineup of vendors and goods each week. Vendor applications are accepted throughout the season. Head to downtown Greenville on Friday, September 4 for Main Street Greenville’s event, Theatre on Third. This outdoor movie experience, located in the parking lot behind Bach to Rock will be projected onto the elementsLife building (120 W. Third St.). The movie will begin around dusk. Theater on Third is free and open to all. Please bring your lawn chairs, blankets, friends and family to enjoy the movie! Downtown businesses are getting involved in the fun as well, offering promotions or activities in their spaces! Head downtown and check it out!

8th Annual Baltes Classic will honor Earl and Berniece Baltes. This Sunday night Tripleheader will feature the Sunoco American Late Models, DIRTcar UMP Modifieds, & Eldora Stock cars. This night will also be the final tune-up for the Late Models before the Famous World 100 week, September 10-11-12. Ages 13 & up is $15, Ages 7-12 is $3, under 6 is free(general admission only). Add $4 more for reserved seats. Reserved seats are all seats under roof(Sections BB - K) and ST, NTA,NTB.

Sunday Concerts in the Park, Greenville

45th Annual World 100 at Eldora Speedway

This year marks the 45th running of The World 100, the first 'big' race among the grassroots speedways. Thursday will kickoff the weekend with a complete event: multi-car Time Trials, Heat Race, B-Features and Twin 25′s (each starting 24 cars). Friday night will feature another complete event: multi-car Time Trials, Heat Race, B-Features and Twin 25′s (each starting 24 cars). Saturday remains 'Classic Eldora' with the traditional electric atmosphere building up to the 7 p.m. start time and six inverted Heat Races taking the green on a fresh race track and advancing just three drivers to the Feature race. The drivers get one more shot in the Last Chance Features and then, the moment we have all been waiting for, the legendary 100-lap Championship Events.

Enjoy the Second Annual Union City Arts Festival opening on Friday, September 11 for a fun filled two-day celebration of the arts, featuring a wide range of art exhibitions, musical performances, children’s programming, and culinary offerings and a downtown beer garden! This is a RAIN OR SHINE event – with no refunds. The Union City Arts Festival takes place in Union City, Indiana, and is a two-day festival that celebrates the arts and culture of Union City and beyond with an emphasis on creating opportunities for local and regional artists, and emerging artists working across diverse media. Showcase the visual, performing, and culinary arts of Union City and beyond. Establish an environment that encourages creativity, expression, and interaction. Promote Union City as a vibrant place to live, grow, and invest. Provide exhibition opportunities for emerging artists and experimental media, alongside traditional art forms. Build community pride through cultural events and connect a diverse range of individuals through the arts. The festival spans a 5 block area within the heart of downtown Union City, with events taking place at the Arts Depot, Firehouse Pipes, Community Room, UC Public Library, Christian Church, Old Fire Museum and others yet to be determined! 33rd Annual Rolling 50's Classics Cruise-In

You're invited to Prairie Days! Enjoy a weekend celebrating prairies and the pioneer way of life! See apple butter being made over the fire, play children’s pioneer games, take a horse and wagon ride, compete in foot races and seed-spitting contests, view local artists’ works, listen to and enjoy live music and entertainment. Sit-a-spell with the pioneer volunteers in the 200 year old Log House as they demonstrate many skills such as spinning, leather work and making butter. Try your hand at candle-dipping, tinsmithing or take a wagon ride around the prairie. Take a stroll through the 18th century encampment and watch a tomahawk and knife throwing competition. Visit the Blacksmith Shop to see the master blacksmith working around the forge. And what is a festival without food? Take a load off as you enjoy fresh produce from Downing’s Fruit Farm or visit one of the many non-profit vendors. Participate in a pie-baking contest, try your luck at the annual basket raffle, and so much more. New this year, vendors from the regional Gourd Society will have their artwork on display. Admission and parking are FREE! Transportation from the main parking areas will once again be provided by Greenville Transit System (GTS). Parking areas will be well marked with plenty of signage. Handicap parking will be held in the paved lot at the Nature Center (please be sure to have your Handicap Placard visible).
