Early Morning Discovery Hikes

Visit Log House and Blacksmith Shop

Every Saturday from 1:00 - 4:00 pm

Each Saturday from May through September, travel back to the 18th century to explore both the Log House and the Blacksmith Shop at Shawnee Prairie Preserve. The sound of hammers and anvil will be ringing as the smiths prepare new material for the Log House. The Pioneers in the Log House will be working on their daily chores just like in the 1700’s.

Downtown Greenville Farmers' Market

The downtown Greenville Farmers’ Market has been a Darke County summer staple since 1998. This year promises to be another great year for fresh produce (as it is ready for harvest), baked goods and handmade crafts from local vendors. Vendors will offer various goods ranging from embroidered crafts, vintage bears/dolls and handmade jewelry to produce, baked goods, herbs and fresh flowers. Event attendees can expect to see a varied lineup of vendors and goods each week. Vendor applications are accepted throughout the season. Family Fun Night at Eldora Speedway

Saturday Family Fun Night continues as a Eldora Speedway tradition that has become eagerly anticipated by fans and families surrounding the legendary speed plant. Featuring the UMP DIRTcar Modified and Eldora Stocks as well as a FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA! This is a night where racing is accentuated with fun at affordable pricing. Adult general admission is only $8, and kids 12 and under are FREE! All tickets can be purchased at the gate upon arrival on Saturday night. It kicks off with a gigantic autograph session in Eldora's fan zone, featuring the evening's participating drivers and their cars from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. That is followed by on-track action at 6:30 with practice laps and group time trial runs. Simultaneously with these events will be inflatable bouncers and balloon twisting clowns for the kids.
