Versailles Towne & Country Players present “The Wedding Singer”
May 30, 2013 - June 9, 20137:00 pm, June 9 @ 2:00 pm
Based on the blockbuster film starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, “The Wedding Singer” takes us back to a time when hair was big, greed was good, collars were up, and a wedding singer might just be the coolest guy in the room. It's 1985, and rock-star wannabe Robbie Hart, played by Versailles native Ken DeMange, is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer. He's the life of the party, until his own fiancé leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous (yet hilarious) as his own. Enter Julia, played by Lynn Blakeley of Versailles, a winsome waitress who wins his affection. As luck would have it, Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a lifetime, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever. Tickets sales begin on May 1. All seats are $10 each. More Information »

The Darke County Center for the Arts will offer a special summer edition of Ghost Walk for the riders coming to Greenville for the 25th Annual Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure (GOBA) in June. Costumed, tour guides will lead participants to haunted sites in downtown Greenville and actors will portray characters involved in the ghostly tales. The stories told during the Ghost Walk are based on tales collected by local resident Rita Arnold who has published several volumes recounting spooky happenings within Darke County and beyond. Her books will be available for purchase at Memorial Hall prior to and following the Ghost Walk tours. The Ghost Walk begins at Henry St. Clair Memorial Hall in downtown Greenville. Transportation will be provided for GOBA riders. Time to be determined.
