Flat Track Motorcycle Racing Returns


ANSONIA - Amateur motorcycle flat track racing is coming to Darke County on Saturday, May 1.


Dating back to the 1950's, motorcycle flat track racing has been coming to Darke County either at the Darke County Fairgrounds or at the Treaty City Motorcycle Club. In 2021, Western Ohio Motor Sports will be hosting an amateur motorcycle flat track race at the J&M Ranch (formerly known as the Steam Threshers lot), 6129 Reed Road, Ansonia.


Racers from 5 years old to 70 years old in 12 different classes of two-wheel motorcycles will be racing on the 1/4-mile dirt track that was built adjacent to the tractor pulling track. Speeds are expected to reach nearly 70 mph.


Hot laps begin at 9 a.m. and racing begins at 11 a.m. Admission is $10 and 10 and under are free unless racing.


Concessions will be available.


Western Ohio Motor Sports will offer 50cc, 65cc, 85cc, 250cc, 40 am, open am, open vintage, 30+, 50+, 60+, open singles and open money classes, (no knobbies). Call or text for more information, 937-417-2137.
