The Darke County Visitors Bureau (DCVB) is pleased to announce the additions of Eric Stachler and Carol Williams to the board of trustees.
Stachler, originally from Lakeview, Ohio, has deep family roots in Darke County. After graduating from The Ohio State University, Stachler moved to Darke County and raised two sons. He’s an experienced banker with more than 30 years at Huntington National Bank where he supports affordable housing development, branch licensing and community development.
Among his community involvement, Stachler served as Poultry Days Chairman and currently serves on the Poultry Days and VAPPA boards. He supports the Night on the Towne, Visit Versailles and the earlier Versailles Bicentennial Celebration. He is also the long-time Treasurer for Heritage Ohio, a statewide non-profit supporting Historic Preservation and the Main Street Program.
He resides in Versailles with a strong passion for his community.
Williams, who co-owns and operates The Winery at Wilcox (Pa.) and The Winery at Versailles along with her husband Mike, previously served as a board trustee before stepping away to care for her mother.
When her family moved to Ohio, one of Williams’ first visits was to the Darke County Visitors Bureau to offer her knowledge on agra-tourism. Although retired from day-to-day operations at The Winery at Versailles, Williams is still involved with both wineries.
Mike and Carol Williams have two children, who are both active with The Winery at Versailles. Daughter Lisa Heidenreich serves as the Marketing Manager and son Jamie is the President of Operations and also co-owns The Winery at Wilcox. The Williams have five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The Williams are members of the Bible Fellowship Church. They are active with 4-H and Buckeye Buckaroos, and for many years she was involved with foster care for horses through the Darke County Humane Society.
In her spare time, she likes to run, garden, read, travel and most of all, spend time with family.
In addition to Stachler and Williams, the DCVB board also includes Robb Clifford, Lisa Martin, Dennis Baker, Larry Boos, Terri Flood, Daryl Riffle, Brian Brown, Marshall Combs, Rachel Neal, Brandon Ervin, Jordan Luthman and Greg Billing.
The DCVB is the official destination marketing organization of Darke County. The DCVB’s mission is to promote the destinations, lifestyles and experiences that are distinctly Darke County.
